About The APAC Alzheimer’s Readiness Consortium

The APAC Alzheimer’s Readiness Consortium contributes to resolving the escalating public-health, economic, and social challenge of Alzheimer’s disease across the APAC, a mega region where ageing populations are particularly prevalent despite rapid economic development.

Our Vision

A region in which health systems across Asia Pacific are better prepared to address the growing impact of Alzheimer’s disease through timely diagnosis, coordinated care, sustainable policy frameworks, and equitable access to innovation and support.

Our Mission
  • Promote greater awareness and policy attention toward Alzheimer’s disease across APAC;

  • Encourage collaboration among stakeholders involved in Alzheimer’s disease policy, care, research, and advocacy;

  • Support the sharing of regional best practices, experiences, and evidence;

  • Encourage health-system readiness for advances in Alzheimer’s disease diagnosis and treatment; and

  • Contribute to policy discussions that improve outcomes for patients, caregivers, and communities.

Our Principles
  • Patient-Centred Approaches: Policies and health-system responses should prioritize the needs, dignity, and quality of life of people living with Alzheimer’s disease and their caregivers.

  • Early Awareness and Timely Action: Earlier recognition, assessment, and intervention can support improved outcomes for patients, caregivers, and health systems.

  • Collaboration Across Sectors: Addressing Alzheimer’s disease requires cooperation among governments, healthcare providers, patient groups, clinicians, industry, and civil society.

  • Evidence-Informed Policy: Policy approaches should be guided by scientific evidence, local context, and evolving best practices.

  • Equity and Access: Health systems should strive to improve equitable access to appropriate diagnosis, treatment, care, and support services across diverse populations and healthcare settings.

  • Sustainability and System Readiness: Long-term planning, workforce preparedness, financing considerations, and infrastructure development are important to ensuring sustainable responses to Alzheimer’s disease.

The APAC Alzheimer’s Readiness Consortium is dedicated to advancing care standards for all individuals living with this condition.
